4th Grade Math Tutoring Online for Kids (September 2026)

4th grade math tutoring is where the market thins out: only 10 of the 29 providers we checked run an actual 4th-grade programme.

eTutorWorld

Most "4th grade math tutoring" pages are tutor directories wearing a grade-4 title. eTutorWorld runs a genuine grade-4 programme with a published Common Core topic list: place value and multi-digit multiplication and division, word problems, prime numbers, equivalent fractions, adding fractions with common denominators, decimals, area and perimeter, angle types and measurement, rays and lines. eTutorWorld is also the only provider on this page with fully self-serve published pricing, at $278 for 10 sessions ($27.77 each, dropping to $23 on longer plans). eTutorWorld offers a free trial with no credit card, for first-time users only.

Sorted by price per hour, cheapest first. Sessions run from 22 to 120 minutes, so the hourly figure is the only like-for-like comparison.

One real limitation

AoPS Online School classes are conducted in a "text-and-image-based" classroom — students read and type in a live chat-style room rather than seeing or hearing a teacher on video — which is a poor fit for younger students, slow typists, or kids who need spoken explanation. AoPS also publishes no maximum class size on its online-school pages.

One real limitation

The advertised $15/class floor is only available on the 12-month commitment (104 classes, billed as a "$1560 coaching fee, billed every 52 weeks"); the 6-month plan raises the same tier to $17/class and adds a "$90 platform fee per billing cycle" that the 12-month plan waives.

One real limitation

The heavily advertised "$17.70/lesson" headline — used in page titles across their whole site — is not a general rate: the pricing page shows it requires the 12-month plan AND states "All prices apply to packages of 2 lessons per week". A 1-month term costs $21.90/lesson, roughly 24% more.

One real limitation

There is no fixed price — their own booking page states "Tutors on Wiingy set their own hourly rates based on experience and subject", so the advertised $19/hr and $15/hr figures are per-tutor floors, and even the free trial is conditional ("most tutors... offer a free trial lesson"), not universal.

One real limitation

Sessions are only "50 to 55 minutes of teaching time", and prepaid packs expire on a fixed clock — the 10-session pack must be used within 3 months and the 50-session pack within 6 months, so unused sessions are forfeited.

$50.00 (from) per session

Format

Ages

One real limitation

The published $50-$55/hour is only an average and is not what you will be quoted: "Pricing varies at each independently owned and operated location" and "Contact your local Sylvan for specific prices" — and their own pages carry three different floors ($49/hour, $50+/session, $50-$55/hour).

One real limitation

The advertised $56 is the bottom of a $56–$99 per-session band, and Learner's own site says rates “vary based on the tutor's experience and level of education, as well as the tutoring package” — so the figure you are quoted may be nearly double. The trial is not free either: it costs $25.

none

One real limitation

The 4th-grade page is a marketing landing page rather than a purchasable programme: real grade-specific content, but no schedule, no price and no way to enrol — only a lead form. Rates are set by the local franchise, so there is no national figure to compare.

One real limitation

ClassDojo's own site quotes two different prices for the same product — “Starting at $17” on the Dojo Tutor page and “as low as $30 for ongoing sessions” on every subject page — and attaches a duration to neither, while stating classes are “25 or 55 minutes”. The $5 trial is 25 minutes. Until they reconcile that, the real hourly cost cannot be established before you book.

One real limitation

Price and even availability are set by the local franchise, not by Mathnasium: "Pricing varies by program and geographic area. Contact your local center for more details on enrollment packages", and to start online you must "Reach out to your nearest learning center, even if your student will be learning online".

Outschool

Format

Ages
3-18

One real limitation

Prices are set by each teacher, not by Outschool, so there is no company rate to compare — listings run $10–$30 per class for anything from 25 minutes to 90. Outschool also adds a marketplace fee revealed only at checkout, behind an account, so the price on a listing is not the price you pay.

We verified pricing, trial availability and session length directly from each provider's own pages in September 2026, and re-check quarterly. Prices are normalized to an hourly rate using the provider's own stated session length; where a provider does not publish pricing, we say so rather than estimating.
